Bloxx helps Yorkshire Building Society keep staff safe online

Bloxx the innovator in Web content filtering, announced on 15th April that Yorkshire Building Society is using Bloxx Web filtering to monitor and report on the Web browsing activity of over 2,000 staff, delivering superior protection from imappropriate or productivity impacting content and minimising network security risks.

The Yorkshire is currently using an Impressa-3 appliance, powered by Bloxx Tru-View Technology, to analyse, categorise and filter Web content in real time, ensuring its users and networks are protected to the highest standard at all times. Bloxx Platinum Partner, information security specialists NTS (UK) Limited, facilitated this deal.

Martin Webster, Senior Technical Analyst at Yorkshire Building Society said "Our previous Web filtering solution was very unreliable and was difficult and complex to manage. Now, with Bloxx Web Filter, we have all the functionality and reliability we need to provide the required levels of protection and security an organisation such as the Yorkshire requires and the Web filter has made the job of Web content management significantly easier".

"The Bloxx appliance was easy to install and integrate within the Yorkshire's IT infrastructure. With the Bloxx appliance providing Active Directory integration, I easily imported directory structures automatically via LDAP and any updates to our users made on our servers are immediately updated on the Bloxx appliance," explains Martin.

The integrated reporting functionality delivered by the Bloxx appliance is put to good use by the Yorkshire. Martin adds, "I consult the activity logs and view user reports weekly to determine whether there have been any attempted breaches of our Acceptable Use Policy. If I require further information I can instantly access lots of different types of reports and drill down into the reports to look at specific situations, users or Websites".

"We are delighted with the functionality and benefits derived from our Bloxx Web Filter. Deploying Bloxx Web filtering has made it dramatically easier to administer Web content filtering at the Yorkshire, ensuring all users get a consistent and safe online experience and are protected from nasty or inappropriate Web content and malware", concludes Martin.

Headquartered in teh UK with sales offices in Holland, the USA and Australia, Bloxx offers appliance based Web filtering for medium and large organisations in both the business and public sectors. Bloxx has achieved unrivalled sales growth year-on-year to become a leading Web-filtering provider with an estimated 2 million+ users worldwide.
